Household Staff - Guardian / caretaker

EDMAR International is currently seeking a caretaker couple to take on the responsibilities of a meticulously maintained three-hectare estate featuring a 19th-century residence. This role involves stepping into the shoes of the retiring current caretakers.

This property serves as the secondary residence of a Paris-based businessman, primarily used during weekends with occasional visits from his adult children. During the hunting season (October to January), the estate can host up to 10 guests. Situated approximately one hour from Basel Airport and around 500 km from Paris.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

– Housekeeping: Ensure general cleanliness, manage laundry, washing, ironing, and errands.

– Cooking: Prepare fresh and healthy family meals and occasionally manage catering during events.

– Gardening: Take care of the maintenance of three hectares of gardens, including lawns, hedges, trees, and a “Vegetable Garden.”

– Care for the 2 dogs present on the property.

– Maintenance: Care for outdoor furniture, property maintenance, vehicles, and routine handyman tasks.

– Driving: Provide transportation to and from the airport and train station, manage day-to-day expenses and bills, and maintain communication with the owner.

– Proficiency in French is essential.

– Previous experience in a similar role.

– Ability to work independently, motivated, discreet, and responsible.

– Comfortable with dogs.

– Strong handyman skills for property upkeep.

– Possession of a valid driver’s license with driving experience.

– Practical knowledge of French and driving is essential.

– Accommodation: A fully renovated separate house with three rooms spread across two levels will be provided.
– Start Date: Ideally in September.
